Aims and Values

AIMS

Our aim is for young people, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to accomplish the necessary skills to function independently. We strive to achieve this by adhering to:

The five outcomes as stated in the Every Child Matters agenda.

As well as the areas specified in the pathway plan which include:

  • Accommodation
  • Practical life skills
  • Education and Training
  • Employment
  • Financial support
  • Specific support needs
  • Contingency plans for support if semi- independent living breaks down

We seek to do this by

  • Providing safe high-quality accommodation for young people.
  • Ensuring each young person is at the centre of the support package identified to meet their needs.
  • Providing ongoing support and assessment to ensure each young person is able to develop their independence skills.
  • Promoting the individuality and identity of the young people we work with.
  • Working in partnership with young people, their families and other’s involved in their care.
  • Encouraging the voice of the young person in a way that is positive and enhances their experience with us.
  • Reviewing our practices through effective engagement with the young people we support and use of recognised quality assurance frameworks.
  • Delivering a service that balances safeguarding with the needs of a young person to have independence and choice.
  • Providing early preventative interventions where needed to minimise the risk of breakdown of a young person’s placement.
  • Delivering non-discriminatory and anti-oppressive professional practice.
  • Supporting young people in accessing community based services with particular attention given to needs arising from cultural, religious or other beliefs/practices specific to the individual young person which may not be readily available.
